Although Richard started dancing in Christchurch, New
Zealand and Natalie in Sydney, Australia, as juniors, their partnership started when they first met as youth
competitors when Richard had made the big move to Sydney
to find a partner and to further his dancing career.
At the beginning of their career they competed in all
three styles, as they had done so with previous partners
with great success, but soon found that ballroom was
their forte and within a few months they danced their
first comp in Canberra, Australia together.
After their successful first competition, there was no
turning back and they were starting to make New Zealand,
State and Australian finals in every amateur competition
that they danced in.
They then decided to move to London in search for
further experience. They both worked at other jobs just
to save enough money for lessons with some of the
world’s best teachers.
After being in England for nearly 4 years, they then
decided to move to Hong Kong and turn professional. Some
of the most rewarding achievements since turning
professional are:-
On top of all
these major achievements competitively they are also
asked on a regular basis to demonstrate, lecture and
teach in various parts of the world. They
love being able to travel the world doing what they love
and it is very rewarding for them to see their couples
develop and be successful. They are also very fortunate
that Natalie's beautiful dresses are sponsored by
Crystal Clover and Leena Tepperi. Natalie always looks fantastic in them!!
